AI Assistant

Enter your API key to enable AI features (task suggestions, description improvement, workspace summary, natural language input). The key is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.

API Key

Supports Anthropic Claude (keys starting with sk-ant-) and OpenAI (keys starting with sk-).

MCP Server

Connect AI assistants like Claude or Cursor directly to your tasks via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Your AI will be able to read, create and update tasks from the chat.

Getting started

Create a task — click + New Task or press ⌘N
Switch workspace — use the workspace selector top-right or press ⌘W
Notes — click Notes tab in the top bar or press ⌘M
Search — click the search bar or press ⌘K
AI features — click ✨ AI and add your API key in the AI settings tab
MCP — connect Claude or Cursor to your tasks via Settings → AI → Configure MCP

Import & Export

Use the Import/Export tab to back up all your tasks and notes as JSON, or export tasks as CSV. The full JSON backup includes both tasks and notes and can be re-imported later.

Connect an AI assistant via MCP

The MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets AI assistants like Claude Desktop or Cursor read and manage your tasks directly from the chat.

Go to Settings → AI → Configure MCP to get your configuration snippet
Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config and paste the snippet
Restart Claude Desktop — the Task Manager tool will appear automatically
Try: "Show me my tasks" or "Add a task: Review Q2 roadmap, high priority"
Keep the app open — the MCP server requires Task Manager to be running

⚙ Configure MCP Server

The MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets AI assistants like Claude or Cursor read and manage your tasks directly from the chat interface.

Add to your Claude Desktop config

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config and add:

Restart Claude Desktop

After saving the config, fully quit and relaunch Claude Desktop. The Task Manager tool will appear in the MCP tools list.

In Claude Desktop, try: "Show me my tasks" or "Add a task: Review Q2 roadmap, high priority"

Note: The MCP server communicates with the Task Manager app via a local API — the app must be running for MCP tools to work. No internet connection required. Works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client.
